  • How often do you restock products?
    We do our very best to keep our products stocked and available to stylists at all times! Restocking times do vary, but the best practice is to be signed up for all Sierra & Sage notifications through our push notifications and newsletter. If a product you're interested in purchasing is out of stock, click the "notify when available" button on the products page and enter your email. Once we've restocked that product, you'll be the first to know! You can also email our team at hello@sierraandsage.com or message our team on any of our social media platforms to get an ETA on restocks for specific products.
  • I need help color matching. What do I do?
    At Sierra & Sage we offer a variety of ways to ensure you find your PERFECT match! Color Ring: Our Custom Color Ring showcases all of our blends in its truest form and remains the easiest way to compare all of our shades. Shop our color ring.     We're proud to have certified stylists all across the globe! We have a "Find A Stylist" Map on our website that lists all of the stylists working behind the chair that have been certified with Sierra & Sage.   • What classes do you offer?
    We offer both In-Person and Online Education. In-Person Education - Deluxe Beaded Weft: This full-day, hands-on certification will teach you everything you need to know about beaded weft extensions. You will learn all three of our beaded weft methods designed for different hair types including the Thin/Fine Method, Medium/Thick Method and Seamless Method (concealed beads). - Seamless + K-Tips: This full-day, hands-on certification will teach you two of our most requested methods in the salon including our Seamless Method (concealed beads/beaded wefts) and S&S K-Tips. Designed to implement a hybrid method for ultimate customization, flexibility and comfort. - The S&S Transformation: In this look & learn course, you will learn to perfect your skills in both beaded wefts and k-tips. Observe our educators install a hybrid method using both methods, plus a color and a cut! Online Education: - Deluxe Beaded Weft: This digital certification will teach you everything you need to know about beaded weft extensions. You will learn all three of our beaded weft methods designed for different hair types including the Thin/Fine Method, Medium/Thick Method and Seamless Method (concealed beads). - K-Tips Only: Learn to elevate the customization of your extension installations by adding Keratin Tip Extensions to your tool belt! Perfect for adding volume and movement, K-Tips can be utilized alone or in a hybrid method. - Seamless Only: Learn to conceal your beads with this short course designed for stylists already offering hair extensions.   • How much do your classes cost?
    In-Person Courses - Deluxe Beaded Weft: $800 - Seamless + K-Tips: $850 - The S&S Transformation: $450 Digital Courses - Deluxe Beaded Weft: $650 - K-Tips Only: $450 - Seamless Only: $299 All classes are available for purchase with a payment plan through Sezzle, allowing you to make 4 interest-free equal payments over the course of 6 weeks.

    Sierra & Sage's Extension education was created by stylists, with stylists' success at the forefront and the utmost pride in changing industry standards. From fair pricing to unlimited support and free resources, our education provides everything you need and more to get back to the salon and immediately start offering extensions. Sierra & Sage offers extension education for every level of stylists working behind the chair - whether you're brand new to hair extensions or are looking to learn something new! Our Methods were made by stylists who work full-time behind the chair with a combined experience of over 30 years and are founded on the belief that there is no "one size fits all" extension method. We offer both In-Person and Digital Education. Our Digital Education includes Deluxe Beaded Weft (Thin/Fine Method, Medium/Thick Method, Seamless Method), K-Tips Only, and Seamless Only (concealed beads). We offer three class types for In-Person education including: Deluxe Beaded Weft, Seamless + K-Tips, The S&S Transformation (look & learn structure).   • Do I have to be a licensed cosmetologist to get certified with Sierra & Sage?
    In order to take a class with us or shop our professional hair, you must create a Sierra & Sage Pro Account and submit a photo of your cosmetology license OR proof that you are a cosmetology student. Yes, even students get certified in our methods!
  • Can cosmetology students get certified with Sierra & Sage?
    Absolutely! Our classes are designed for a variety of experienced stylists - whether you're brand new to hair or simply brand new to extensions. We've successfully certified both students and experienced stylists across the globe. When creating your Pro Account to enroll into a course or shop our professional products, simply upload proof of cosmetology school such as your school enrollment or school handbook.
  • What do I do after I enroll in a class online?
    After enrolling into one of our online courses, our team will reach out and provide instructions with how to access the online videos and how to get in touch with your assigned educator. We just ask that you reach out to your educator within 30 days of purchasing your online course.
  • How can I get Sierra & Sage to come to my City/Town? Can I host a class?
    Sierra & Sage takes general requests for our education team to come to your City/Town, even if you don't have your own space but would love to bring our method to your area! We also are always looking for lovely salons to partner with. Please either fill out our Host A Class Form or email hello@sierraandsage.com and we will do our best to respond within 48 hours.
  • Do you teach Tape In Extensions?
    We don't have courses for Tape In Extensions, but we offer a FREE digital course! Our short online course is available here. For the best experience, download our FREE workbook to follow along.
  • Do stylists receive a Pro Discount on your hair?
    Yes! When you create an account with Sierra & Sage and register your cosmetology licence, you are given access to our Pro Shop and all pricing will automatically reflect a 20% stylist discount. We also give all our customers the ability to earn more with our Sew Pro Points program which gives you one point for every dollar spent and those points can be used as credit for our store!
  • What type of hair are your hair extensions made of?
    Sierra & Sage Hair Extensions are 100% Human, Remy Hair sourced from both South East Asia and European Countries. Our hair is double drawn, cuticle aligned, and has no silicone or acid used during production process. Our brand has an ethical donation process so that women in underdeveloped countries can sell their hair and receive enough money to feed their families for a year.
  • How many custom-colored shades do you offer?
    We currently offer 28 blends and counting. Our shades are custom-designed by a team of stylists who work in the salon every day. Our shades are designed to mimic the most popular tones and color placements we see when working with clients behind the chair. This makes our brand ideal for stylists who want to have the option to apply the extensions straight out of the bag without having to custom color.
  • How much hair comes in a pack?
    Seamless Weft: We offer 18" and 22" length with 55-60 grams. ***Depending on the shade you order, the number of wefts per package vary but the grams always remain consistent. K-Tip Extensions: - 25 pieces, totaling 25 grams. Each piece weighs 1 gram. Available in 18" and 20" length. Tape In Extensions: - 20 pieces, 55-60 grams. Available in 20" length. Clip In Extensions: - 10 pieces, 160 grams. Available in 20" length.
  • Can you custom color your extensions?
    You should NEVER bleach our extensions. But, for stylists who prefer to custom color extensions before installation, our hair is easily customizable and takes color well. We recommend using an acidic color line, such as Redken Shades EQ. We have a list of Toner Matches on our stylist resources page. Click here to view our stylist resources.
  • Do you have a guarantee on your hair?
    We are one of VERY FEW extension companies in the World who offers a warranty on their hair! If your client receives a “bad batch” of hair, we will replace it up to 45 days after purchase. Even if it’s been worn or colored. A bad batch is uncommon but when dealing with human hair, it is possible to come across a batch of hair the is excessively tangled or sheds prematurely.
  • What products should be mandatory for your hair care routine?
    - Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner (sulfate free) - Detangling Brush - Hair Oil (use from mids to ends) - Weekly usage of a hydrating hair masque - Heat Protectant Reccomended: Use a Silk or Satin Pillowcase
  • What products should I avoid with extensions?
    We do not recommend using any form of protein (animal or plant), bond builders, alkaline dyes, sulfate, alcohol, avebenzone, or sodium laurel sulfate products on Sierra & Sage Extensions. Due to the way our hair is processed these products will cause buildup which will result in knotting and matting. Avoid salt water and chlorine to prevent color stripping, sleep with dry hair only in a low ponytail or braid, and brush your hair 2-3 times a day to prevent tangling and breakage. We suggest using hydrating and moisturizing professional grade products only. A proper home care routine for Sierra & Sage Extensions includes a extension safe shampoo, conditioner, detangling spray, heat protectant, hair mask, and hair oil. If custom coloring, use acidic based color only.
  • How much is shipping? How long does it take to receive my order?

  • Do you offer same day shipping?
    Sierra & Sage does offer overnight shipping through FexEx for $100. Otherwise, all orders placed before 12PM PST will be shipped the next business day. Orders placed after 12PM PST will be shipped within 2 business days. When checking out, you can pick your shipping option which will illustrate the timeline in which you should receive your package.
  • How long does it take for my order to be shipped?
    The shipping option you choose at checkout determines the timeline in which you will receive your order. To view our shipping options, click here. Orders placed before 12:00PM PST will next business day. Orders placed after 12:00PM PST will within 2 business days. **Please note our shipping department is closed on Saturday and Sunday, as well as any major holiday.
  • Do you offer in-store pickup?
    Yes! When checking out online, you can choose In Store Pick-Up in Reno, NV in replacement of shipment. Once you place an order for pickup, we will contact you with instructions on how to pick up your order and a pickup time. ***Please note - if you have a request for pickup time, please contact our team to verify our availability.
  • My shipment is late, what do I do?
    USPS is experiencing frequent shipping delays. Sierra & Sage is not responsible for delayed packages.​ ​ If you have a question about your order, please email hello@sierraandsage.com and allow 48 hours for a team member to respond.
  • What is the difference between an Insured and Uninsured order?
    Orders that are shipped insured are guaranteed. This means that if your package is lost or damaged during shipping, Sierra & Sage will replace its contents at no additional cost to you. We only ask that if your package does arrive, you contact us to ship it back. If your order was insured and has been lost or damaged in transit, please contact our team at hello@sierraandsage.com and we will respond at our earliest availability to send you a replacement order. If you choose to ship your order uninsured, you assume all liability. Uninsured packages will not be replaced under any circumstances.
  • Where does Sierra & Sage ship?
    Sierra & Sage ships domestically in the United States and internationally across the globe. If ordering internationally, please select FexEd at checkout.
  • How does shipping work among the holiday seasons?
    Please note our shipping department is closed on all major U.S. holidays, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. Sierra & Sage shipping department is open Monday-Friday.
  • How can I get access to your Wholesale Program/Shop?
    Earn access to our Wholesale Program when you have a Tax ID/Resell #. All you have to do is either sign up for a Pro Account by submitting a photo of your cosmetology license and Tax ID/Resell # OR update your account permission by sending an email to our team at hello@sierraandsage.com with a photo of your Tax ID/Resell #.
  • What discount does the Wholesale Program give stylists and salon owners?
    We believe your clients should buy from you - not us! When you shop Sierra & Sage Wholesale, you get 40% off all of our consumer Home Care products and Clip In Extensions. We also offer exclusive wholesale perks and discounts seasonally, allowing you to save extra and get an additional bonus out of your shopping! To sign up for a Wholesale Account, create an account and upload a photo of your Resell #/Tax ID. If you already have a Pro Account but want wholesale access, email proof of your Resell #/Tax ID to hello@sierraandsage.com and a team member will respond within 48 hours to grant you access to your savings.
  • What products are available at Wholesale price?
    In our Wholesale Shop, you can purchase all of our Home Care products and Clip In Extensions at a 40% discount, allowing you room to make a greater profit on the product you retail! This includes Clip In Extensions in almost all of our most popular shades, Detangling Brushes, our Shower Filter, Sleep Caps, Extension Home Care Kits, Silk Pillowcases, Shower Caps, Claw Clips and Scrunchies!
  • Can I bleach Sierra & Sage Extensions?
    You should NEVER bleach extensions and should only use an acidic color line to make sure to not raise the pH. Our favorite color line is Redken Shades EQ! Check out our Stylist Resources Page for some of our favorite toners to match the natural hair to our most popular colors.
  • What products could damage my hair extensions?
    Avoid using products with sulfate (commonly found in over the counter shampoos and conditioners). We also do not suggest using bond builder products on hair extensions. If you or your client must use a bond builder, only use it on the natural hair. There are also ingredients in sunscreen that causes discoloration and damage to hair extensions. These ingredients are avabenzone and octocrylene. You should not use alcohol based products, commonly found in sunscreen, and do not spray sunscreen directly on your hair extensions. Not to worry though, we know sunscreen is a must! Use a mineral based sunscreen. If you do notice your hair extensions have faced discoloration, buildup, and possibly even damage, try using Malibu Wefts & Extensions Shampoo, Conditioner, and Packet Remedy.
  • How long do Sierra & Sage Extensions last? What's their longevity like?
    With proper hair care and routine maintenance, Sierra & Sage Extensions live anywhere between 9-12 months (sometimes even longer)! If you protect your investment by following hair care instructions, you'll get the most out of your hair.
  • Do I need to blow dry my hair? Can I sleep with wet hair?
    You do not need to blow dry your extensions, but we strongly reccomend blow drying at the top of the weft to avoid scalp irriations. However, you shouldnever sleep with wet hair. We suggest sleeping in a lose braid or a ponytail.
  • Can I swim with hair extensions?
    In the summer months, it is best not to submerge in pools and salt water. But if you must, because we get it... life happens, make sure your hair extensions are up in a ponytail or braid and that you apply a leave-in conditioner or masque liberally throughout before going underwater.
  • Can I cut hand tied extensions?
    Do not cut the wefts on hand tied extensions. This will cause the wefts to unravel and pre-maturely shed. You cannot fix this issue. If you want customizable extensions, we suggest looking into either Flat Weft Extensions or our NEW Seamless Weft Extensions.
  • Can I return tools or hair extensions?
    Yes, returns are accepted for both tools and hair extensions 30 days of purchase. The extensions must not be worn or altered and must be in the original packaging. Tools must not be used or altered and must be in the original packaging.
  • How do I request a return?
    Please fill out the form on the "Return Policy" section of our website. Make sure to include all information as well as your order number. Once we receive your return form, a member of our customer service team will contact you. Please note that Sierra & Sage is not responsible for the cost of shipping returned items, however we are one of the few companies that do not have a restocking fee. If you have any questions or concerns, please email our team at hello@sierraandsage.com and a member will be in touch. ​
  • Can I return hair extensions after installation?
    We do not accept returns for hair extensions that have been taken out of their packaging, used, or cut. All returns must be in their origional packaging and unused.
  • What if I get a "bad batch" of hair?"
    Sierra & Sage offers a Guarantee on all hair extension products. Due to the nature of human hair extensions, it is possible, though not common, to receive a "bad batch" of hair. In the event that you purchase Sierra & Sage Extensions, install them and you or your client experiences excessive dryness, tangling or shedding, we will replace your extensions at no cost to you. You will fill out the Return Form on the "Return Policy" part of our website and include your order number and state "warranty claim" in the memo. A member of our customer service team will reach out to you with further instructions. Please note, that warranty will not be valid beyond 45 days of purchase. You will be required to send photos and video of the product as well as return the product in order to receive a replacement. We will ship the replacement as soon as we receive the product in our warehouse. Sierra & Sage is not responsible for the shipping cost associated with warranty claims.
