Winter Hair Care

It’s officially that time of year; where the temperature drops, everyone moves inside and our hair becomes dryer and dryer. The cold weather brings dryness, static, frizz and the lack of luscious, shiny hair. The transition between cold air and hot heated indoors can zap all moisture from your hair. But don’t panic! We’ve put together our favorite tips and tricks to achieve perfect hair all winter.

Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

During the winter, moisture is everything. The cold weather and the indoor heating can dry out your hair, causing dry scalp and more breakage. Using a moisturizing shampoo, conditioner and oil can bring your hair back to life. For your shampoo/Conditioner, we recommend using one of the following: Oribe Gold Lust, Oribe Moisture & Control, L’oreal Pro Longer or Unite 7Seconds. These are our absolute favorite products and go-to’s during the dry winters.


Brush that hair!

Try to avoid over brushing your hair, especially after the shower! Brushing wet hair can stretch your strands and cause breakage. When brushing, start at the bottom of your hair and work your way up slowly. Sierra & Sage offers an AMAZING detangling brush that detangles wet hair extremely gently. Don't Make Me Blush is the detangling brush that will have you feeling giddy all the time. This brush is excellent for wet or dry hair, but she really shines when detangling wet hair!

Take care of your hair by taking care of your body! Drink lots of water to nourish your skin and your hair. Also, consume a healthy, balanced diet to avoid any vitamin or nutrient deficiencies. These nutrients will help keep your hair healthy all winter long. To go the extra mile, taking vitamins such as b12, b6 and biotin will work wonders for hair health.
