Extension Styles That Photograph Well for Social Media

You just finished a gorgeous extension transformation–now it's time to capture it! Great photos don't just showcase your work, they also help attract future extension clientele. The right hairstyle can highlight the volume, color, and seamless blend of the install, making your content stand out on social media. Here are a few of our favorite extension-friendly styles that always photograph well!

  1. Half-Up, Half-Down

The half-up half-down style is soft, feminine, and perfect for showing off hair extensions. Pulling just the top section back lets the length and fullness shine while naturally concealing the wefts underneath. It's an easy style that looks effortless in photos and works for almost every client!

  1. Braided Twist

A simple braided twist adds texture and dimension to your hair photos. Braid or twist (or both!) the front sections of hair, pull them back, and secure them with a small clear elastic. Add decorative pins for some extra fun! This style keeps the wefts hidden while creating a romantic look that photographs beautifully.

  1. Soft, Classic Curls

Nothing shows off a fresh extension install like loose, bouncy curls. Curling the hair adds movement and body, and allows every color and highlight to catch the light. Especially for the clients who have dimension added with the Express Weft (like the client photographed below), soft curls help emphasize the dimension and volume you just created with the extensions. Stunning!

Post Your Work!

Hair extensions open the door to endless styling possibilities, so get creative! Try photographing your client from multiple angles, gently flipping the hair for movement, and taking before and after photos to highlight the transformation. Then, once you’re ready, just post it! Forget that strand the looks out of place or color that seems a little off… most clients won’t see what you see. They’ll only see their next inspiration photo and they’ll want to book with you! If you’re looking for even more inspiration, follow us on social media where we post hairstyle ideas and posing tips to help your extension work stand out!
